This is gonna be a(nother) long day to gone re-maxing the friendship level while none of them are able to know each other, and not all of them using campfire daily.
I am going to guess you will need some kind of remote trade pass which will cost gold coins.

They might surprise drop Dynamax Eternatus on the second day of global go fest. And then drop Eternamax Eternatus next season. But more than likely they’ll debut both next season. It’s crazy we’re even getting Eternamax at all. It hasn’t even come to Sword and Shield yet because it’s so damn strong.

We might not have to spend any time at all increasing friendship levels. Best friends could still be the max and they could slide in the new friendship level at 60 days to unlock remote trades.

I THINK I know how it will work:
You'll have to gift said friend to reach remote level. Once it's filled, you can make a trade with said friend and then that friendship level resets and you can't trade with said partner again until you fill it once again.

If they are introducing remote trades, they have to introduce a better form of in game messaging, some of my lucky friends aren’t people I know so would love to be able to message them asking what they want to trade. Campfire is not good enough!

Because of the lack of communication I would think this will not be a live transaction. More like you can select someone on your friend list who is remote trade eligible and can see a selection of pokemon and they have tagged as on offer for trade, if you want one you can select it and then you will be highlighted on their friend list as initiating a trade. This might reserve that pokemon for a couple of days and in that time the other player can look at the your list of offered pokemon and if they find something they would be happy to trade for they select and then both parties have a couple of days in which to confirm they are happy with the trade. I hope that when they introduce the new friendship level that it registers all the interactions already done beyond best friend. This would hopefully make all the international players that I have had and being best and lucky friends with for years instantly level 5 and eligble for remote trading, if that is how it will work.
