[Lyndom Region]A Fish that Fries Itself…?

A Fish That Fries Itself…

Dex Entries:

Shallofry, the Fry Oil Pokemon. Shallofry subsists on the oil sac dangling from its belly for about a week after hatching. As they are so desirable to ocean predators, few of them will make it to spawn on their own.

Snappura, the Fried Fish Pokemon. Snappura captures prey by spitting globs of superheated oil. It is prized as a culinary delicacy of the region.

Mariscod, the Golden-Fried Pokemon. Mariscod are a rare sight due to over-fishing and so few of them surviving to return to the spawning grorunds along Lyndom's coast. The barbels at the corners of its lips contain an oil that can reach over 375 degrees fahrenheit!

Origins and Data:

The Mariscod line is based on fried fish, as seafood is commonplace all over Lyndom's inspiration of New England. In particular this line is meant to resemble fish and chips, given the fry-shaped dorsal and pelvic fins and their lemon-shaped pectoral and tail fins. The shiny colors reference a particular fast food restaurant (please no lawsuit!). As for particular fish species this line references snappers and cod, both being popular fish for eating. Shallofry's oil glob is meant to reference a baby fish's yolk sac.
