I did this as a nuzlocke. Early in the run, I lost a Zubat. I caught another one to replace it. I made it through the Elite Four with every team member alive. I took out all of Cynthia’s Pokémon, except Garchomp, with the team intact. Gastrodon stalled for a while, but eventually, Swords Dance and a crit Earthquake spelled her end. Roserade fell second. Crobat fell to Dragon Claw. Luxray was gone next. Infernape too chipped in, but Shadow Claw wasn’t enough. I was down to just Steelix. He survived Earthquake with just 30 HP. I resigned myself to a loss and chose Bulldoze once more. But, to my surprise, Garchomp used Dragon Claw. Cynthia was out of Earthquake. Dragon Claw left 1 HP. I thought it was over again, and I selected one more Bulldoze. But, there was no loss of HP. All of my Pokémon had max friendship. It kept saying Slayer, my Steelix, didn’t want me to be sad. I took that to my resolve. Dragon Claw couldn’t finish me off, and Cynthia was out of Full Restores. Steelix won the battle, and he and I were champions. Our friends hot us here. We will miss Mason the Infernape, Sasha the Luxray, Roselew the Roserade, Wayne the Crobat, and Sammantha the Gastrodon. (I apologize for the picture being sideways).
