It’ll mark 5 years this Halloween when I was working a second job with my roommate as managers at a Halloween city just an easy AM job for extra cash outside my career.
These stores were known for having just stuff thrown into bags and boxes so when we came across a few booster that didn’t ring up and were not part of our inventory we decided to open them.
The only cars that stood out to me was this Allakhazam Ex as the Abra line ending with Allakhazam was my favorite line… so it immediately went into the window portion of my wallet… this was October 2020
Today I am randomly grabbing some items at a store and open my wallet and the young guy helping me immediately says cool sticker it’s one of his favorite cards and always wish he had it… I pulled it out and laughed that it wasn’t a sticker… it was my favorite Pokémon and randomly pulled it out of an old dusty booster at an old job…
He immediately turned pale and asked me if I realized how rare this card was… at which point I laughed and said no not really… I know the cards are popular now but 5 years ago even as a big video game and board game nerd I didn’t hear about it like I do today. So just shrugged and said well it’s my favorite PSA zero…
Side note… the last picture is all the rest of the holographic cards that came out of those boosters along with some coins… are any of these cards worth holding onto or trying to find a home for them. My niece and nephew do not collect them, and my 3 year old doesn’t like Pokémon yet nor is it something I want to push. If she naturally gets into it great but yeah. Is there any reason to keep any of these other cards?
