Once upon a time, I used to make unique time pieces with spare pokemon cards.
I produced about 15 and only ever sold 3 because I was having issues with accuracy after reassembly and couldn't bring myself to sell them as purely cosmetic pieces. Otherwise, i could just make bracelets by inlaying in resin and save myself the trouble. I would have searched for a solution, but my right hand was crushed in an accident around that time i was getting into it, and I had trouble with fine motor skills as a result. Watch hands are very tiny and I often dropped the tools used to handle them, bending pieces up and making it impossible to reassemble at times. Id have three watches torn doew and only get one functional piece. I do miss pulling the watches apart and tinkering. It could be frustrating and rewarding!
I had more images on FB of the ones that sold like Gengar, Blissy, and Ekans. I gifted a few more like the Nidoking and a Dratini. The ones that were laying around were finally donated to goodwill several years back (Jigglypuff, psyduck, squirtle, golem, scyther, magmar, …etc). I have the first one i made, Umbreon. It's a little beat up, but ok otherwise.
I love seeing people's unique uses of cards. Like the people who make little 3d scenes or paint a card to be a one of a kind full art! 😀
