I’ve made a list about each legendary/mythical pokemon uniqueness

Since this topic is very confusing to new Pokémon fans I tried to make a simple list of which legendaries are unique or multiple in the franchise.

This list takes into account the following things:

• If two of the same legendaries appeared at least twice in the same timeline(gen 1 to 5/gen 6 to 9) there are probably multiple of them.

• If capturing a legendary changes anything in the game (like, unique dialogues) and this same legendary appears again in another game on the same timeline it's a confirmed multiple.

• Online events that change anything in the game are considered canon, for example the Zoroark event in BW1 that changes the appearance of the Lostlorn Forest and this same design is used in BW2 again.

Wouldn’t Koraidon and Miraidon be confirmed multiple?

A lot of these here don’t seem entirely sound. Much of the legendary re-appearances in subsequent games aren’t exactly there for lore purposes, but instead for pure accessibility and gameplay. We have to remember that a lot of stuff in Pokémon is due to game mechanic.

wait is that actually how the Pokemon canon works? Games aren’t just a “sequel” to previous gens in a general sense, but also in the specific actions that the player took in previous games? Is that why “a legendary can be optionally captured in multiple games” is confirmation that there’s multiple of them?

I figured there is only one mewtwo cause…It would be weird.

Meltan needs its own category, as there are plenty, but only in our world, we have to transfer them to the Pokémon world to use them there

  6. Multiple Ho-Oh, Kyogre, Groudon and Rayquaza, among many others? Also, among the Forces of Nature, only Enamorus is unique? Yeah, no, lol.

They’re unique lore-wise. The only reason you can catch the legendaries in other games is to make pokedex completion easier. There’s no such thing as multiple Ho-Oh. Sorry, but this is very inaccurate.

There’s only 1 kyurem cause he’s part of the original dragon. He’s the 3rd piece. It’s like zygaurds and his cells. There’s 100 of em but they form into only one 100% zygaurd. There might be more original dragons but we don’t know either.

  8. This list shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the Pokémon lore. Pure gameplay is not the main metric you should base this analysis on if you want it to be accurate

Lol, I’ve made this list to explain things to new fans but as it turns out the old-heads that have the hardest time understanding things

There are confirmed to be two Mewtwos. The one that Team Rocket acquired and then the one from the Genesect movie that was developed by Team Plasma with stolen data.

Also, SV LITERALLY has two of each Legendary, that is a CONFIRMED multiple since they are past and future versions of Cyclizar.

So I’m going to approach this “no, you’re wrong” thing from a different angle.

In the Delta Episode in ORAS, a central plot point is that there are multiple worlds which can be connected via the Link Cable. The specific other world that keeps being talked about is one without Mega Evolution, mainly because they would have no chance of stopping the meteor.

There are however many worlds. Many, many, many worlds. Some of them have megas, some do not. Some don’t even have humans, and Pokémon have created their own civilisations, and some have bizarre Pokémon which could never be found in the world that you play in.

Part of the genius of the Link Cable plot point is that it simultaneously cannonised every single individual playthrough of a Pokémon game. There isn’t just one event called “Alpha Sapphire”, there’s the Alpha Sapphire that I played, and the Alpha Sapphire that you played, and the Alpha Sapphire that John down the road played, and I actually did a Nuzlocke once, so that Alpha Sapphire is cannon too, and so on.

Just because you caught Dialga in a Hoopa Ring, and then caught it again during a Max Raid, does not mean that they are different Dialga, because you might not even be on the same Pokémon World. The Pokémon Universe is infinite, and has a seemingly unlimited number of worlds which appear to be identical.

First time i’m pleased by seeing a cat-legendary Pokemon that is even an Electric type and mothertrucker Nintendo has the audacity to not put him on future games or even events, this is blasphemy 🤬

At least Nintendo could include Zeraora in any of his games like Pokken Tournament or even Super Smash Bros Ultimate as a playable pokemon character like Mewtwo or Lucario to bring more variability to the pokemon cast, but nope… *INCINEROAR ENTERS THE RING!
