Pokemon

How do you think Korrina and Gurkinn feel about the mega rings just being everywhere in Lumiose? Do you believe it invalidates their role as the descendants of the people who created and mastered mega rings/keystones in Kalos for generations?

Context: The Tower of Mastery is Shalour City, where you are supposed to be tested through a trial to decide if you can use a mega ring.

This is because Kalos was the original home of the Mega Rings (but not Mega Evolution, which was introduced in Hoenn chronologically), which allowed Pokémon to transform using artificial tools provided by their trainers. Korrina was/is training to be the successor of Gurkin, the Mega Guru, who essentially shares knowledge and lore with generations.

Calem and Serena canonically battle to decide to become the one to have the mega ring, and the winner ends up getting it during the main story and the loser ends up getting it during the post game for a battle. But the general idea is that YOU HAVE to go through this in Kalos to get a mega ring, maybe not in Hoenn or somewhere else, but in Kalos it seems YOU HAVE TO.

Of course, some got around this, like Lysandre. Still, it can be inferred that bro just made his own, considering that he had the legendary Pokémon that either controlled the power of life or death, and that is the basis of what the energy mega evolution exerts. Plus he is evil, so he doesn't follow the rules.

But now…LITERALLY EVERYONE HAS A MEGA RING IN ZA, and I think that is hilarious that Lumiose's mega craze basically invalidates Korrina's entire passion…kinda and reason to exist?

Like I don't think we will be going to the tower of mastery, so what the heck?
