First post, hope this info can be useful to someone else too. Stopped by a store on my lunch break to grab food and check the Pokémon machine and noticed a S&V Base Set Booster Box was in stock but anytime I tried to go to my cart after adding an item it would give the “sorry we can’t process transactions at this time” message (this happened for the single packs too, only showed it with the box in the video).
Usually I would have left at this point but I hadn’t seen a S&V base set box in ages, along with it being one of the boxes from this era I am still missing for my sealed collection. So I decided to stay and try to get it to work. I noticed the card reader said “loading…” so I tried pressing the buttons on it. It changed the text to some long message I didn’t read but still wouldn’t let me check out. After pressing the buttons on the card reader randomly a bit more it finally returned to its regular “welcome” message and let me purchase it! Was stoked it let me and hopefully if anyone here has the same issue at the machine they can use this work-around too.
