Rivers don‘t work. Beach or sand.
I’ll try the coastline later then
It’s kinda nonsense that they just expect people, including a huge casual player base, to know that “Beaches or Water” doesn’t include all water areas for all the pokemon listed.
Not a beach in sight so…
Meanwhile, same issue with Toadscool… For reason our city has the mountain biome…
Just have an look in this thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheSilphRoad/s/M8xwhxgl0I
There is an very good explanation on how to check which areas are the right biomes in the game. Only in those areas you will find wiglett, regardless of the catch background.
Yep, the only way is if Niantic/Scopley make it part of research breakthrough or in raids. I knew SAND needed to be part of it.
To be honest as a casual player, I’m not going to do all that mentioned above. To me it smells fishy.
I spent about 3 hrs in a beach biome today. I’ll admit the wigletts were spawning more frequently that usual- caught about 30 but no shiny
I caught a toadscool on my drive from work and I literally live (and work) near the beach so idk what the causes wiglett to show up
If you want to know where wiglett can spawn, check the Pikmin Bloom map and put the beach filter on. Turn off all the others. That will show you the areas tagged as beach.

There’s one tiny spot in our entire county where wiglett can spawn. What a fun event.
I found this one earlier. He ran after I took the pic. 🤣

Bros walking in the city and expects a pokemon who lives in the sea to spawn 💀
This event and biomes are really non-sensical.
I don’t live in a city, but a small town. No mountains. I would call it forest based on the spawns we have from the season.
I was just out for an hour and saw plenty of pokemon from the cities, mountains, and forest spawn pools, but literally nothing from water/beach. Toedscool was also nonexistent.
What kind of nonsense is this?
I live on lake erie and been seeing wigletts
*cries in Phoenix*
You have to scan your area for “natural-beach” and “natural-coastline”. So many people are wasting their time waiting for spawns that won’t happen since they don’t have those biomes.
I dunno, I’ve been walking around a lake for two hours, catching all the other water spawns but not wiglett. I’ve got an incense running, lures all over and turned the alert on. Friends have said similar things.
Considering you have tadbulb you’re in a different biome. I assume beaches and water means lakes and oceans or something
