Found my old collection at my parents and couldn't believe what I had! After looking through them all I realized I was super close to having the first card printed of every original 150 pokemon, so made that my goal. I had to buy a few to round them out (and yes, I know technically I would need the first editions, but I also need food and shelter).
Had so much fun and nostalgia piecing it all together and was obviously super happy to see some really valuable cards (shadowless charizard!!!!). I'll never sell them because they bring me so much joy, and I realized way too late that I wasted some money grading cards without an ROI…but I love 'em and can't be mad that they're safe.
Only wish I could show it to my younger self and give him a high five for doing such a great job collecting. I don't even know if I knew what a shadowless card was at the time. I'm close to a full shadowless set, but again, really need food and shelter…
Gotta also shout out mom and pops for buying me 90% of these. They picked a great way to bribe me to do stuff. Now I have these cards and I know how to swim and play the saxophone!
