Wiglett – only on beaches.
Toedscool – only forests and grasslands.
Excuse my French, but I live in a land locked fucking desert. I did not get to partake in catching either of the featured Pokémon.
At least put them in the paid timed research like you usually do ffs. $3 for nothing 😡

I drove to a tiny beach biome yesterday and sat for 2 hours with incense in the hopes of a shiny Wiglett. I had 2 encounters in 2 hours. Neither shiny:(
The biome was also an hour away from me

I live in the countryside, which is farmland and grassland etc, and usually this results in the grassland biome as my small village is surrounded by grass/forest….. yet for some reason in this event I’m being classed as a city! Being rural is often bad enough, bit not benefitting from it in the few instances where it would be useful quite frankly sucks
Same, I live in lower Central Aus.
*fortunately* for some bizarre reason an area nearby is listed as forest (it’s as close to ‘urban’ as you get out here) so I got… three Toadscool.
Yeah it’s a 4 hour drive to the nearest beach. Ain’t happening for a wigglet event alone.
Seen a few toadscool, but they in the middle of the floodwaters after a huge period of rain (river burst it’s banks, but wasn’t high enough to reach the bridges. Basically flooded some sport playing fields alongside the river.) wasn’t anything I could do to get the toadscool, as the water was far too fast to swim in, and far too deep to fjord, and the pokestop they were spawning at was about a meter underwater.
We live near several beaches and lakes and we didn’t even see any spawn. We were only out a couple hours but it seemed weird to me. We got the normal beach spawns but just didn’t see the debut stuff.
Atleast put then in a research! Or spawn for event duriation as a rare spawn before biome locking them. Landlocked places are lucky to have a tiny beach biome but then wigletts barely spawn from thebonly one remotely near me and i saw 1 toedscool this entire event.
This is hands down THE WORST EVENT EVER in the 9 years of the game. It excluded so many place from getting the new stuff that it honestly may as well not have been an event.
Legit I have only seen the top left zone
I live in the middle of Australia, the closest beach is like 10 hours away and forests aren’t much better
I started the event in Stockholm and took a train to the southernmost parts of Sweden. I literally searched half my country, took long incensed walks in serveral cities and in the countryside. I have found 2 toedscools and had to use rare candies. Livid.
These biomes have never been effectively implemented. Bust event.
A debut in *fOrEsTs* is idiocy and I promise the wiglett spawns on beaches were few and far between too.
The information they gave wasn’t correct. Toedscool was only spawning in parks.
Most of the other stuff was spawning everywhere.
Exceptions were sandygast and one of the other water ones that basically weren’t included, unless they were in the beach biome only. And smoliv and tadbulb that had their own weird spawning rules where they were spawning everywhere in large areas that didn’t correspond to the usual seasonal biomes, and nowhere else. In my city around half of it was spawning smoliv and the other half wasn’t.
I haven’t Seen a single wigglet or mushroom all week😅
I still haven’t seen a Wiglet or the Tentacool knockoff. No matter how many times I cross the river or go to the water’s edge. And the latter doesn’t appear on the nearby no matter how many parks I go past. A trip to the Bronx Zoo, Botanical Gardens, Woodlawn Cemetery or Van Cortland Park. At since I have maps in my city I can see each of those locations will either have the Toads or not. Other times it’s a Teddiursa nest. Then I check later and nothing comes up on the map and I have the Toad thing, Teddiursa, and Staryu highlighted.
I fortunately had a wiglet I caught in the wild a few weeks ago, so heavily thinking of using 44 rare candy to evolve it for my Pokédex and save myself a 2 hour drive to the coast and the stress of hunting them.
I got 0 wigglets , this is a bit bad , did they do anything about the yellow poke stops not giving coins ? This is 2 for 2 on pretty poor events
This event made everyone realize biomes suck. Saw neither Toadscool not Wiglett at all simply because of my urban location.
Super frustrating event. The supposedly forest biome featuring toedscool didn’t really spawn at all due to the cloudy weather and also the sweet swarm event! I really think Niantic should reconsider and not overlap the events altogether
I checked our river banks by my home, a lake (all day!) that is an hour away, and even a town water reservoir that shows as a large body of water in-game: Not a single one spawned, but tons of the other spawns listed for that biome. I am hours from an ocean beach.
Very disappointed.
No shinies and the biome stuff didn’t work,just normal spawns. Whole thing was disapointing.
Bro I got 4 the whole event, I catch at least 200 Pokemon a day. That’s ridiculous

I lurked around the lake at my local park for hours, no wiglett in sight!

I live by the sea… Stopped counting the amount of cucumbers BUT you guessed it no shiny 🤣🤣

I live on an isthmus and didn’t see either all week.
I live in a coastal city and was at a beach the whole day yesterday and not even one wiglett spawn. With incense and plenty walking.

In the whole event i have seen and caught ONE squid-with-legs, jellyman if you will.
Managed to get three wiglets completely by accident (autocatch while driving with incense, what are the odds) but no shiny 🙁 did get two toedscools but no good ones. Maybe next event …
Biome exclusive spawns as a release tool … bad game design
Golf courses sometimes count as beach biomes. After a friend of mine reported catching 5 Wiglets over a few days at a particular one I decided to drive to it and lo and behold I caught one right away.
I forgot those were the city spawns, no wonder i was drowning in centiscorch and trubbish.
You can’t play an AR Pokémon game and then complain when you have to “travel across the land searching far and wide”.
