Canicar- previously just looked like a baby Sharpedo and I did kind of run with it being as they're cousins and all that, but ultimately it kept bugging me how weak and uncreative of a design it was. New Canicar just works better and the protective padding it shares with its evolution keeps it more consistent and helps it look like a fighting type. Also it has a dog's side eye to lean into the dogfish part.
Ephemoth- Luglow is meant to be like if Caterpie was a Magikarp. Rare grub you can find glowing at night that becomes a monster on evolution. Ephemoth I gave more unique proportions to and decided to make their wings MASSIVE. Just a much more interesting moth Pokemon and now you can see them and know something is different.
Anaroach/Arthrone- Arthrone has a unique fusing evolution method so changing one meant changing both as Arthrone is literally just a Bugeoise riding inside an Anaroach. Previous design was way too generic and just looked like bootleg Saiyan armor which didn't really fit the kingly vibe I wanted to go for.
Serghetti/Spagarter- Their previous evolution method was abysmal. It required you have a full team of 6 Serghetti. Not intuitive at all. Leveling up with Coil in your moveset seems more obtainable.
Exeetle- had Emergency Exit but that seemed more like a detriment. Run Away seems more fitting.
Phasmosiege- previously it had an ability called High Energy, which negated the need to recharge after a powerful move. I completely forgot I made up an ability called Headstrong a long time ago for a Dewgong evolution and considering Phasmosiege is a battering ram, this just seemed too good. Trebugshay, the evolution, does have High Energy, as it's a trebuchet and I think having a quick reload on moves like Rock Wrecker sounds more fun.
