Just in case people are still struggling, I made a ‘shiny only’ account with the idea of having a restricted list of pokemon to use in battles to make the game have some level of difficulty.
This team took on giovani fairly convincingly and is made up of pokemon that have spawned around in the last few weeks.
Escavalier: bug bite, drill run
Machamp: counter, close combat
Metagross: bullet punch, flash cannon
The Persian wins against our machamp at this level so I started with escavalier to get a little damage down and around 2/3 drill run charge. Then switch to machamp to finish Persian.
Machamp from there takes both shields from gio against rhyperior before fainting. Metagross finishes rhyperior.
Metagross gets a fair bit of damage down on giratina with flash cannon before switching back to escavalier to spam drill run until the end.
Make the most of the free damage you get from switching pokemon, people! It really makes a difference.
