As it says on the tin, what if it hadn’t been Cilan but Cress or Chili that decided to go traveling with Ash, Pikachu, Iris, and Axew? There would be a lot of changes, surely, given that the Pokémon Cilan caught might not fit for Cress and Chili’s teams, and the events where Cilan played an important part might differ due to the differing personalities of Cress and Chili.
Each brother has their own unique personality and traits that would give them goals in going on a journey. We already know what Cilan wanted as he canonically went with Ash and Iris, but Chili left home later in the series to grow stronger after a really bad defeat, meaning that if he had that inspiration earlier on to go, he would have. Cress however stuck to the Gym and seemed more concerned about it, so he might not have as much a goal in mind on the road as opposed to at home, unless his travels was for the same reason in growing stronger to make sure the Gym stayed open, or to bring back experience to the Striation City Gym so that the place got more recognition than a first stop Gym, as while it was no Cerulean in the way it worked, it was also considered not the best Gym and an easy one in the series and games both to battle against, given the level difficulty difference that was Lenora in her tactics.
So I’m just curious to y’all about how you think things would go if it was Chili or Cress as opposed to Cilan?
