Some lovely rocks friends!
Deep Mantle Boldore, named so for its initial discovery in a cave far below the surface of the Earth, is a Rock/Fire type Pokemon. Geobiologists believe the Deep Mantle subspecies came about through Roggenrolas migrating their way deep into volcanic vents, attracted to the rumbling orchestra of Earth’s tectonic plates. Deep Mantles are hot to the touch, but very gentle in demeanor. Like their pre-evolutions, they navigate through hearing alone. When introduced to water (gently and with care to not injure the Boldore), the liquid vaporized upon touching the body, revealing an immunity to water type attacks. Several of these Deep Mantle Boldore were attracted to the sound of a deep boring drill, used by the same scientists that discovered them, leading the end of the excavation, as nobody wanted to risk hitting one.
Curio Boldore, named for its proclivity to find and incorporate fossils into their body, is a Rock/Water type Pokemon. First noticed by a group of beach goers in Unova, pictures of the unusual Boldore spread like wildfire online, attracting the attention of prehistoric researchers. This unusual subspecies seemed to have the fossils of extinct Pokemon displayed in their shells. Upon further research, the scientists found that this outer shell was a conglomeration of sea bed sediments and not truly a part of the Pokemon. After carefully negotiating with the Curio Boldore, it traded its fossils for a pile of Oran berries and a shell bell, and retreated into the ocean. Days later, the same Boldore emerged with new fossils adhered to its outer shell.
