Saw this in the wild. I used a golden razz berry, an ultra ball, and did an excellent throw. First try it broke free and fled😢

    There is no way!! I’m so sorry for you! Mine was shiny and I was stuck on that hell ride of a catch for 20 minutes. After 40 ultra balls and all my Razzs I finally got it!

    Haven’t seen one of those birds for a long time now. Honestly losing interest in game, as it’s all increasingly pay for tickets and such shortened event days. Been playing since 2017 but it just isn’t as fun as it used to be,

    Encounters with them aren’t super rare, catching them is what’s rare

    I’ve had like a dozen of them run from me so far, and the only one I caught was shiny (guaranteed to not run)

    Standard practice. I haven’t seen one in ages, but of the 4 encounters I have had so far, they all followed this exact pattern.

    These have a 0.3% base catch rate. This is the most common outcome. Niantic really wants you to use your master balls on these.

    I’m actually impressed you got an excellent throw, I’ve been lucky to see a shiny one so I got lots of practice, it is incredibly hard to get the distance, I just settled for great throws
