This is a listing of what i think Ash's team would be if he used ALL his Pokémon in some kind of all out battle. I am considering the friendship angle of his philosophy, aswell as theming reasoning and symbolism.

Pikachu because its his starter. His partner.

Charizard because of course Charizard, but also because its a loose representation to Johto aswell. Charizard trained in the Charicific Valley.

Sceptile because its his only grass type starter to fully evolve. Its also his rep for Hoenn.

Greninja because his Greninja has a special bond with Ash himself, even running away from other trainers until he met Ash. Its also his rep from Kalos.

Lycanroc due to it being a special form of Lycanroc. It also symbolizes the first time Ash won a major league and thus becoming champion of a region, that being in Alola. It also a repsentative of Z-Crystals as the only one else here who has a special Z move is Pikachu.

Lucario can be both his rep for both Sinnoh and gen 8 as thats the series he obtained it. It was also in his team along with Pikachu to help him win the Masters 8 in Galar to be a Pokémon master.
So with this, we have some representation from every region, besides Unova, but considering Ash was regressed in that series, and there being 8 generation to go through, 1 being missing is no biggie. I also managed to get the 3 starter types that are starter Pokémon. There's also the 3 gimmicks Ash used on the team with mega evolution (Lucario), Z-moves (Lycanroc), and Gigantamax (Pikachu).
