I had to scratch this itch I’ve had for a few weeks and design this fakemon based on spell books, tsukumogami, and other spoopy stuff, and having fun make a convergent species by changing just one letter in Spiritomb’s name. I wanted to base its colours off Spiritomb’s shiny palette and vice-versa. I’m really happy with my idea of the bookmark ribbon as Spiritome’s “tongue”. I thought it’d be a cute detail to have different forms based on Pokémon writing systems: Unown, Gen III Braille, and Galarian alphabet that others have decoded online. u/Cyberohero did beat me to the “tome” idea 2 years ago, but I only found out after searching “Spiritomb convergent” on Google for research and artistic inspiration.
