It existed for a short time in like 2022. It was nice and should be back. But you also have the option of deleting the stuff you got that you didn’t have before. It sucks but it is the only option if you don’t want to buy more space
Good job you can discard all those items you’ll never use
I just want to be able to get a gift and maybe some star dust when bags are full. I have several active friends that send & receive gifts. Hard to keep up if you only get gifts from your buddy.
Just dump items, you survived without those items before they gave them out
Honestly, this used to happen every time we went up a level in the before times. It happens to me every week when weekly adventure rewards trigger. It was more extreme this time but for the most part they were easily renewable items. Managing your items within your bag cap is part of the game. Either use items to get under your limit or delete them.
Im with you. I don’t understand why people are bashing you for wanting this option. I have almost 7 million stardust so I don’t even need that. I just want the field research. I jumped from 43 to 66 so it was a lot of items all at once. I’ll eventually use everything so I don’t want to delete
Absolutely.
Just being able to spin the stop and have it count towards medal/research task/streak/new location for a buddy absolutely should be a thing.
Ideally, you should also be able to receive research tasks despite having a full bag.
That’s all I want. No need to go for star dust, as that would probably be a counterargument given that you can spin many more Pokestops than open gifts.
It’s a quality of life feature that would go such a long way, and I can’t imagine it’s gonna have a profound negative effect on storage sales. They can – and should – even keep showing the “Your bag is full”, but allow the spin.
It would be such a small, easy, simple change, and it would certainly increase community sentiment.
But even with what I think would be a miniscule impact on sales at most, we know how Niantic/Scopely are and we’ve seen how it’s been getting worse and worse.
Them doing a QOL feature without expected positive impact on sales is already so, so unlikely, and much less so if they catch so much as a whiff of a possibility of a slightly negative impact on sales.

Going forward, it would also be great if we were able to manually claim level-up rewards at our own discretion with the only restriction being that everything has to be claimed in order for us to level up again.
Yes, pleeease! Deleting items from bag for new field research is annoying as hell!!
we really should get one guaranteed no gimmicks spin per day.
youc an do it if you raid cause that’s how you get the next free daily raid pass but not everyone can reliably raid.
They just need to let us put caps on each item
Potion = 0
Super potion = 0
Hyper Potion = 0
Max Potion = 150
Revive = 0
Max Revive = 150
Pokeball =300
Great Ball = 0
Ultra Ball = 300
etc etc
and it just bins any items recieved over that number
Im about 900 items over and need to toss otherwise I can’t buy remote passes for mega rayquaza 😅
I’ve actually burned through 700 items pretty easily so far. I’m burning all the nanabs on annoying to catch mons, so I can pump away at nice throws.
I was gonna delete a ton of items but I’ll be back down to normal today anyways
It’ll never happen. They don’t want people to be able to hoard items.
Are we still complaining about bag size? **DELETE** items and problem solved.
Or come on the internet and complain about being given free bag space and items.
Just delete the unnecessary items, I don’t know why this is such a major issue for some people.
I’m shocked that the item boost we all got is beyond some of your abilities to deal with.
You don’t have to keep everything they give you that’s way more max revives and Max potions than anyone needs to hold on to
Feed the berries to gyms
Go through balls left right in the centre getting 999 nice throws
By the time I hit 71 I was about 400 items under my cap and I was about 300 over when the level up thing hit
should be able to get research if nothing else form stops if our bag is full. Thus count towrads a spin for the day. I had to dump over 600 items to be able to spin anything.
It would’ve been better if the items were on your profile and you could claim them any time. So when a rocket takeover comes around for example, I can refill with potions as I go.
This definitely used to be a thing when the game first came out. I remember sometimes I’d spin for items, be full and be unable to spin again because it let you do it anyway. No idea why they stopped it.
If it makes them sell less bag space, they aren’t gonna do it. Same with reducing animations – never gonna happen. They most likely have hard rules about these things because it’s the only thing they’ve been consistent about.
Didn’t delete anything my side. I used them. Healed everything I needed to after a load of raids a while back. Spammed all the berries into gyms over 2 days. Caught the 100 mons I needed for level 71 on day 1.
It was a one time thing and most of it wasn’t premium rewards, so really you can just get more from any pokestop
If you want to continue your spin streak you can still spin a gym disk for your daily raid pass and it will spin regardless of your storage space. That way you don’t delete items or buy more storage. I hope this helps with at least keeping your streak alive.
No can do, too much money spent on creepy avatar smiles.
I spent a while grinding out the nice throw challenge burning up berries and ultra balls to get me under my inventory limit.
I just want to be able to collect an egg when my bag is full so I can open gifts without getting a stupid 7k egg.
Alternatively, make 7k eggs not utter trash.
If the items equal more than you will ever use, why not throw some away?
They won’t. They want you to buy more storage
