Does anyone know if just traveling to a zone over and over again works to shiny hunt?

For example, if I just teleport here over and over will that lock in any shinies in that zone as they spawn in?

Does that work? Is it resetting that zones pokemon?

Do I need to walk in to the wild zone to "confirm" the reset?

Or does it only work by sitting on a nearby seat? And if I were to sit on a seat, how close do I need to be? Does the seat need to be inside the zone or just nearby outside the zone?
