The XP Celebration Event is started on 25 August 2025 and last till 15 October 2025. This one and a half month long event came with a timed research with 50 stages to complete and the difficulty of the tasks slowly increase to an insane level. Is this how level 80 will be like when its out?

Mewtwo should have been the final reward even more a middle finger to people that already had level 50 because exp for level 80 so low.
I wish we can delete eggs. Keep getting 10km eggs from stops when I need to hatch N eggs. impossible to complete for ftp players.
Completed the tasks 50/50 with 2 days buffer left
I made it to lvl 50, doing 48million xp in 44 days, these research helps a lot, but the task of sending gift and collect particles that you need to do it with more than 1 day, set me off of complete all pages of the research. To me doesnt make any sense that is a research of 50 pages in 50 days, and some pages you are not able of complete without spending money (collect particles)
Anyways, the best way i found of doing 1 mill xp per day was with excellents throws, i think i reach page 40 something of the research
Thank you for raising awareness of this issue! I wish they had formatted the research differently so people could focus on specific categories and obtain more of the available XP.
I believe i stopped on pg 15. I got delayed because I didn't know there were 50 pages to complete plus I'm primarily a f2p player & don't have excessive incubators & can't play for hrs & hrs everyday
I wish the poke stop task would refresh every 30 minutes.

I hate this damn research so much it was fun until they gave me harder task😂😂
This was one of the worst baits of "something fun" the game has done. I started grinding a lot at the start and i just felt burn out after 2 weeks, and it just made me stop playing because it was SO tedious and lame. And i have a gym and a powerspot in my house. I have friends to help with raids and i have good pokemon so i can solo or duo most 5 star raids. So people without all those advantages were just blocked from advancing. they turned the game into a 9 to 5 job. Literally the opposite of what makes a game fun. Whoever thought this was a good idea has the same amount of braincells as the ones that made the avatar update.
Totally agree brandon i live in a rural town in Australia and i only got to around page 19 or 20 of the timed research i struggled with the routes and field research only like 12 pokestops in my town 2 gyms and 3 power spots
I made it through two of the five tasks on page 34
I gave up around 15. I was always level 50 and felt it was way too much. Especially if you are a full time worker like me or a person who work 2 jobs. Way too much. Niantic needs to realize, not everyone can play full time. These task are way too ridiculous!

I hadn't really been playing for a while, got back into it a few months ago. I love research tasks, it's my favorite part of the game, with collecting coming in a close 2nd. I'm retired and decided to attempt completing all 50 levels. I'm retired and I was out for several hours sessions a few times a day. I'm fortunate to be in an area with plenty of stops, gyms, and spawns. I also have a car, so I could visit multiple parks each trip out. The hardest part for me was gifts, but I used a couple of apps to get more friends so I was able to send all my gifts in 1-2 days. This also helped since I missed the release of shiny Scatterbug and I wanted to start working on collecting them. I tend to keep my friend list to just local players, so I needed a lot of friends.
As a person that works 40hrs a week it’s definitely a lot given the short time we had, not even a full 2 months to complete it. I made it to page 30 but got stuck because I ran out of friends with available gifts.
My friend that plays about 30 minutes a day only made it to page 5
Can’t say I found it overly fun, too grindy and monotonous. Some days it definitely felt like more of a grueling chore than a fun game that I’m spending REAL money on lucky eggs and incubators… 🤦🏻♀️
This event was definitely in favor of big spenders/hardcore players in large metro areas
I was pretty motivated to do this research for the XP because I was about 20M XP shy of Lv50 when it came out. I spent the entire month of September grinding, and I accomplished about 1 page of this research per day, but it's so time consuming that as soon as I hit Lv50, I stopped. I made it to page 34! …buuuut I'm honestly fine not finishing it. It feels like a research that was never intended to actually be completed by the majority of players.
somehow managed to complete level 34 and a few tasks on 35…. was definitely a grind
For me, I think the tasks are totally fine. Reaching level 80 shouldnt be easy its supposed to be challenging. If everything in the game becomes too simple, then theres no real excitement or sense of achievement anymore. I actually like that Niantic made it tough, because in every game, when you aim for something big, there should be effort and dedication involved. Thats what makes it more rewarding when you finally reach that goal. I understand that it might be difficult for some players, especially those in remote areas, but that’s also part of the adventure finding ways to overcome those limits. If everything was handed to us easily, the game would lose its fun and purpose.

I really enjoyed this time research and all the XP really helped me reach Level 50 in time.
Impressive to hit stage 50. I worked hard at this because I was trying to hit level 50 before the cap raise and got through the 40th task on the XP celebration research. Too many of the steps were time-gated if you didn't want to spend real money to get max particle passes and raid passes. As a free-to-play player this would have been more fun as a special research, because with daily grind we could eventually get through all 50 tasks.
This is impossible were i reside xd , i have almost no spawns, i have 13 pokestops+gims total and i have 31 friends that almost all not even play the game… For raids im almost depending right now on remote raid passes because i also have no people to do them with….. it would be impossible for me at least with out remote raid passes, just for the raids needed
This man, right here voiced the TRUTH! For most players, there are not much pokestops/POIs and endless resources to just splurge. Honestly, if I too were in a different location, I wouldn't have bothered, rather would have quit this game long time back. Here's hoping Niantic/ Scopely takes note

tbh as soon as i hit the routes i gave up, have had enough xp for level 50 for so long now but havent been able to complete the level tasks to progress past 45
I made it to page 45. I wasnt going to spend money on this. This should have never been timed.
Still using lucky eggs, an item he pays money for, when he already has more than enough XP, is sad. Especially so, because he then asks on social media for others to donate for some emergency. Would that money from the lucky eggs etc. not be better spent for that donation thing?!
Also, ripping off the patreons with this. He takes your money and literally throws it out of the window. There is no benefit from it at all.
I believe it shouldn't have never been timed. And put it on the side that you get it when you complete it.
This would have been fine as a special research, not a timed research. I enjoyed the challenge, but without spending the $$$$, impossible to do in a relatively short time.
I completed the research in the last 30 min. I had to catch 70 out of 500 pokémon. I stopped in 2 Poké Stops and lured them with the mossy lure module and activated a 30 min Necrzoma adventure effect. I was driving like 12 hours to reach at my town and get some sleep because had to work the next day and I had to go a little bit faster in order to get the Poké Stops available. It was so annoying until I could find a town and finally I found them at 23:30. 2 weeks ago I was at the 30th step and decided to not completed because it was way crazy to do it and didn't needed the XP anymore but then I thought I could make it, I've already been spent some money so wynaut a little bit more. It was so so so frustrating, not only the spent money cause actually it was not a big deal (if you calculate good, you could optimize the free rewards) but also the fact that everyday was chaotic because of the job and living in a town with almost no Gyms, no Power Stops, no Poké Stops. It was like a second job. Fortunately, I travel a lot and could move around various cities and I did it, it was so refreshing doing it and I really hope Niantic/Scopely don't do that again.
It was the trades for me.
If I see a community member once a month its a lot so ignored this research
