Antique Sinistea showing as sillouet in nearby?

I'm used to Sinistea always showing as a sillouet on nearby raids, regardless of catching it previously or not. But I believe this is the first time Sinistea is available in the wild. Today I saw a wild Sinistea sillouet on my nearby. Figured it was the same issue as the raids and didn't think too much of it. But then I decided to go catch it just in case. Sure enough, it was an antique form (my first one)! Not sure if this was coincidence or not, or if this is a reliable way to find antique form in the wild (at least for your first catch). Wasn't sure if this was known or not, didn't see another post about it.

It’s coincidence. Sinistea is always a silhouette regardless

Didn’t work for me it was still phony. However that proves nothing. There could have been an antique that despawned while I was catching the phony. I only saw the one, but they disappear in a crowd of spawns so maybe I didn’t see it. I don’t know.

Same thing with me. Saw a sinistea silhouette which I hadn’t seen before and it was antique

  4. I don’t think it’s a coincidence. I saw a silhouette sinistea on my radar but there was also one that spawned nearer to me but no silhouette. The nearer one turned out to be phony and the silhouette one was antique.

On the nearby, if you haven’t caught both types, all sinisteas will be silhouette. However, if you click them on the nearby, whichever type you haven’t caught will be silhouettes and whichever type you have caught will be it’s normal color.

So to hunt antique sinistea: Just have an account that hasn’t caught antique sinistea but has caught phony sinistea, set the pokedex alert to sinistea, and click to see which ones are silhouette on the nearby.
