Since the release of Pokémon GO we’ve all had the opportunity to directly evolve our Eevees into one of the Kantonian evolutions by using the so-called naming-trick. Each player can use each specific name (like Sparky, Rainer or Pyro) only once. While this trick may be a nice reference to the Pokémon anime, it heavily limits our freedom to choose which Kantonian Eeveelution we want. After a specific name has been used, that option is gone for good and from that point on we have to rely on luck to get that particular Kantonian evolution again. The announcement of the Dynamax Eevee Max Battle Weekend reminded me that this problem still exists.
We all know from the mainline games that we ALWAYS have full control over which Eeveelution we get at ANY time. So please, Niantic/Scopely: Do the same for Pokémon GO and give us control over which Kantonian evolution we want, whenever we want it. Here are two ideas how this could be achieved:
- Show all evolution buttons for all three Kantonian Eeveelutions by default.
- Remove the limit on how often we can use the naming-trick for the Kantonian Eeveelutions.
Personally, I prefer the first idea because it makes evolving Eevee into its Kantonian Eeveelutions much easier, more accessible and more intuitive. What do you think?
