This is an anonymous online psychology study for Pokémon players aged 18+ who have played at least two mainline Pokémon games (not including GO, ROM hacks, or spin-offs). The goal is to see whether the way people choose and keep (or box/release) their starter Pokémon across different generations relates to their personality traits and empathy.
Participants answer questions about:
• Which starters they usually pick (specific Pokémon and type)
• Whether they tend to keep their starter in the team or replace it
• How attached they feel to certain starters or types
• A short Big Five personality questionnaire
• The Toronto Empathy Questionnaire
All responses are anonymous, take about 10–15 minutes, and have been approved by the Institutional Review Board of The American College of Greece.
