Was at a show in the UK yesterday, the 2 guys running this stall mentioned they had the newest Pokemon set. They had a single 6 pack box but then do the salesman tactic of saying “but the big boxes are better value”.
I wasn’t planning on buying much but they only had 2 booster boxes and temptation got the better of me. I handed over the money without even asking what’s in the set as I haven’t been into TCG for ages.
I got about halfway through the opening when I pulled the Charizard and the vendors went nuts and congratulate me. I didn’t react much at first but then they go “it’s a £500 card and more than double that if it’s a grade 10”, I forget how many times I said “are you serious?”.
I was laughing to myself the whole rest of the day. I never got this lucky when I was into Yugioh, crazy stuff.
