Pokemon

A Pokémon for Each State (Revised)

Hi folks! I made a map a year or two ago and I’m not fully happy with the Pokémon I picked, so I’m updating it now.

Alabama- Cottonee, for one of the state’s nicknames being The Cotton State. Cotton has a long and often troubled history in the state.

Alaska- Beartic, for the climate and bear population in the state.

Arizona- Maractus, for the Saguaro cacti.

Arkansas- Diancie, for being the state most associated with diamonds. Formerly the only state with diamonds; they were recently discovered in Colorado.

California- Ursaluna, for the California Grizzly prominently featured on the state’s flag.

Colorado- Abomasnow, for the Rocky Mountains and rich diversity of trees in the state.

Connecticut- Octillery, for the state’s history of firearm/munitions production. Washington himself nicknamed the state “The Provisions State” for their weaponry contributions in the Revolutionary War.

Florida- Feraligatr, for alligators.

Georgia- Pecharunt, for being the peach state.

Hawaii- Comfey, for leis.

Idaho- Sableye, for being the gem state.
