FULL DISCLOSURE: I do not think that fuecoco's design is bad, or that I could do any better; I wouldn't even go so far as to say that I don't like it, I was just watch Subjectively YouTube videos when one challenged viewers to participate in redesigning Pokémon that they think could use it, so got to thinking..
I used to really be a Gen5 and earlier "purist" with some reverence for Gen6 standouts, but all in all I've VERY mellowed out now, and can maybe count my bones to pick on one hand. That being said, at the top of my "hated pokemon" list are the Galar fossils, then maybe the Treasures of Ruin (cause, like, are those guys even pokemon?), but I know those are already controversial, and I don't have ANY vested interest in making them more palatable for myself, so I went with something that I feel a little warm towards, little baby Hogeta.
Long story short (?) I'll love it as a character in the anime, but the design as a whole just never really fit my taste for reasons I've not really been able to put my finger on. The idea, then, was that I'd figure out a little bit more about WHY fuecoco's design just didn't feel "right" to me, as I worked out my own tastes and design idealogies and what-have-yous.
Whatever the case, I think I've taken it as far as I can on my own, so I wanted to check with other fans to see what y'all think I may be able to do to improve this.
