Pokemon Trading Card Game

Our stock lasted 3 hours

We got a display from our delivery truck for our rare occasion Pokemon stock we get at my job. Last time we got one of these baddies, it was DR. We got it set up, and I tried to see if I could print a purchase limit sign on these, but management shut me down. I buy 3 packs for myself (Got the cool Aipom card) and sell like… 10 packs to various people over the next few hours.

Then walks in the scalper. I live in a town thats close to a city, and have seen this dude hanging around my LCS. Comes in, sees the display, and his eyes go wide, and proceeds to buy the remaining 80+ packs we had at $5.99 a pack. I REALLY wish I could of done something, but such is life. This hobby is cooked until this bubble pops (its gonna pop… right?) Buy Singles.

Most stores have a limit, why don’t you do that ? Scalpers piss me off so much, no one else gets a chance

  2. Lol bubble isn’t popping until the hobby dies. So as long as people want cards, its gonna keep going.

He can resell for what, $8 a pack? After taxes he’s making maybe a little over $100. Doesn’t seem worth it.

Unless of course he’s ripping them all. In which case I hope he doesn’t find a single chase card, and spills soup on the cards he does like before he can get them in a binder..

In my opinion it gets better prices really do go down. I was able to get a box at msrp this time. Still no prismatic or destined rivals tho.

  5. Maaaybecome 2027z This year is the 30th anniversary, new generation, etc. There will be a lot of hype

Buying packs at $5.99 after sales tax is $6.46.

Market Price is $8.07 which after seller fees of around 12% you end up at $7.10 per pack for a profit of 64 cents per pack… or $51.10.

    Doesn’t seem worth the time.

I’d love one of these displays for showing off my blister packs but every store I’ve asked someone already claimed it 😔

U saw the ETB for this set was 52 quid on amazon so I managed to find one in a Carefour store and the price was inflated to 70 quid. Its insane how hard is to like this hobby anymore.

At my local supermarket it has been available for weeks now. What happened at your store sucks, but the world seems to be healing bit by bit.

profit margin is so low, and you will earn more money with a side simple job

how are you certain he’s not ripping them or doesn’t have a rip n ship type deal ?

Just open a pack and get some dopamine. People are crazy to horde if that was the intention of buying all the packs at once.

“Nature is healing” 🥴 it’s like this everywhere. Only takes one local scalper to clean out a store. Sad state of the hobby.

But Reddit tells me stock is supposed to last over 24 hours now🥺

Probably not a scalper but an addict. Not sure how much profit there is in packs. At least they’re not doing drugs….

Man I was lucky enough to find a shelf with single destined rivals packs last night at my local target and felt like I hit the jackpot just buying the per person limit two at retail. Hit a team rocket Nidoking Ex and was hyped. The struggle is real out here though forsure.
