Hi! I've never posted on Reddit before (beyond a couple comments), but I realized that showing off the sprites I've made and getting feedback is the perfect way to make them the best they can be.
As for some details on these fellas:
Pinten's a pine marten taken literally (pine needles emerging from its tail and legs). It is adept at climbing trees, so if it detects danger, it can easily scurry up and blend into the canopy. When it's happy, it excretes sweet-smelling sap from its needles.
Bombaa's a lamb with super flammable wool. It can be ignited at will with the wick on its tail, which makes it "explode". It's very showy and overconfident
Puplash's a little water terrier with a buoyant organ around its stomach. It's among the most loyal of all Pokemon, and helps retrieve items accidentally dropped in the water.
Detribug's the Route 1 bug, based on a leafhopper (not to be confused with a grasshopper). It's weak and skittish, so it hides among the leaf litter that it eats. If under pressure, it can jump very far in one single bound.
Bitssum's also a Pokemon you can find on Route 1. It's a possum that, when hungry or bored, chews on its tough, worm-like tail. While it's cute, Bitssum's warm smile conceals sharp teeth that it bares when cornered.
Castarc's the Pikaclone of the region. By chewing things, it can generate electricity that it can discharge through its tail. It binds objects together with static charge to create a terrestrial dam that can shock any interlopers on contact.
