I had similar glitch yesterday, it was counting field research progress but it was showing the wrong icon, in my case it kept showing my catch count increasing with the showcase ribbon.
They are regular field research tasks

I’m fascinated by the curveballs going to the left! I’m always doing like to the right. Trying to the left is so hard! Kudos.
