Final Update (Before Digital Versions) of my water type starter for my African region: Swipe for its evolution and picture references. Read description for dex entries.

First Stage:

Clioak [Clio Pyramidata+Cloak] (Water) {The Sea Butterfly Pokemon}

Ginger: Clioaks love adventure and antique objects. They will often bring their trainers random trinkets to show their affection.

Mint: The conch shell on its cloak harbours powers of empathy and understanding. It will place the shell on its trainer's head in hopes to be better understood.

Second Stage:

Limponcho [Limacinidae+Gastropod+Poncho] (Water) {The Sea Angel Pokemon}

Ginger: Limponcho get themselves into trouble by traveling to places they shouldn't be. They often end up hurt by man-made traps or predators.

Mint: Limponcho often have to be separated from their Clioak siblings in captivity because they are known to prey on Clioak when they first evolve. Their hunger usually fades with time.

Final evo:

Reefermata [Reefer Coat+Fermata+Coral Reef+Mami Wata] (Water/Ghost) {The Angelic Siren Pokemon}

Ginger: This Pokemon acts as a parental figure to Pokemon that live close to its deep sea habitat. It acts this way because it feels spiritually connected to the ocean, anything that hurts the ocean also hurts Reefermata.
Mint: Each strand of hair on its head is the soul of a dead water dwelling pokemon. They whisper secrets to it in hopes of gaining avengeance.

Inspiration Board:

• Sea Butterflies look like they're wearing cloaks

• Mami Wata

• Sea Butterfly shells mixed with Mami Wata’s jewelry

• Acidity in oceans is endangering Sea Butterflies which feeds into ocean activist theme in this Pokemon

• Cloak turns into Ghost Net (Lost nets that cause pollution at sea)

• Ghost Nets = Ghost typing

• Sea Angel > Sea Butterfly > Mixture of both

• Hoodie strings on Clioak and Limponcho turn into snakes on Reefermata
