Hi everyone,
over the past weeks I worked on a full design pitch for a hypothetical next-generation Pokémon game.
This is not a rant and not a “Game Freak should do this” post — it’s a structured fan-made design concept exploring how Pokémon could evolve without losing its core identity, especially with more action-oriented creature games entering the space.
The goal was to respect both longtime fans and newer players, instead of forcing one playstyle to replace the other.
Key ideas in the pitch:
A Dual Battle System: real-time action battles or a modernized classic turn-based mode, fully balanced and equally viable
Pokémon with clear roles (tank / DPS / support), positions, and meaningful environmental interactions
Regions (Kanto → Johto → Hoenn, etc.) designed as expansions with soft resets instead of power creep
Fair co-op with level scaling (similar to WoW’s level sync), so veterans can play with new players without trivializing content
PvP that is fully normalized (no breeding, friendship, or myth advantages)
Long-term engagement through raids, rematches, and cosmetics — no pay-to-win
I tried to keep the document professional and realistic, closer to a design whitepaper than fan fiction.

I’d genuinely love feedback:
What ideas feel strong or weak?
What would you cut entirely?
Does this still feel like Pokémon, or does it go too far?
Thanks for reading — I’m very open to discussion and critique.

Happy to answer questions or clarify parts of the concept. I’m especially curious which ideas feel realistic vs. too ambitious.
