I grew up with Pokemon cards and just recently got back into it. I was at a friends house who had all his cards out, some in slabs and others in binders. He was showing me this app called Collectr, so I downloaded and scanned some of my childhood cards. I was looking around and just seeing what was out there kind of getting myself familiar with new age cards and boxes/sets. Our son’s birthday was a few weeks ago and my mom was out shopping for clothes. She went to multiple places and couldn’t find anything good in his size. I had mentioned he wanted Pokemon cards. She was at Costco when I texted her and she said ok I got him some cards, I said really? I didn’t think much of it, and she sent me a picture of the box. It was the scarlet and violet black/white heavy hitters box. Not realizing what she had stumbled upon, they must of dropped that morning and I also did not realize it was a good set. She brought the box up to my work and after doing a little research, I immediately asked if she could go back and grab me one. Well she did and they were all gone. But, on the last pack of the box, we pulled this Reshiram EX. And now I am realizing how hard it is to find boxes because they are sold out everywhere. The card is in a penny sleeve and top loader now, I moved it after I bought some top loaders. Now I have to tell myself that this won’t happen often and temper my expectations lol
