So as the title says, what's the weirdest/wacky/out there idea you've had for the Pokemon anime? Here are three ideas I had:
-
Spinel gets taken down by a law suit; either from the Rising Volt Tacklers for libel and/or slander or from his insurance provider because he didn't include the risk of the 6 Heroes in his insurance assessment for Explorer's base so they are suing him for trying insurance fruad via getting his premiums undervalued. Would be especially funny if he gets sued in the first case in Galar as it is base on Britain and in British libel/slander cases the one making the controversal statement has to prove what they said was true unlike in other legal systems so it would end up with Spinel trying to prove his narrative but not having any evidence other than the testimonies of the Explorers vs the testimonies of the Rising Volt Tacklers, various character references on their side (like the staff of the academy, gym leaders, etc) and Pagogo's ability to purify laquium infected pokemon (and of course a Pokemon under the influence of a strong sphere). Added fun would be the RVT's lawyers realizing that Spinel's control of Exceed and the Explorers in tenuous at best and based on Gibeon's outburst against Amethio in HZ065, which probably has no legal basis; one injunction later and Spinel is kicked off the Exceed board and the court appointed replacement can have a look into the company's actually dealings and expose Spinel's dodgy research. Probably wouldn't happen as I don't think a pokemon series would end with the bad guys taken out by a lawsuit (and all the complexities needed to explain that).

An older than we last saw him Ash beating the Explorers in a demo-match with someone else's Pokemon; my idea is the as a publicity stunt, Spinel arranges a match between Ash as World Monarch and one of the Explorers (probably Chalce) to demo the capabilities of the Strong Spheres to the wider public. However Ash decides to pick an audience member and either have them fight in his place after explaining a strategy to them or ask to borrow their Pokemon for the fight. Note Ash is probably not picking a random audience member but someone who he saw fighting at a previous point; Ash uses the team to specifically do two things: 1) show that he wins from strategy and skill not having the strongest Pokemon (stopping the Explorers from claiming it was Ash's strong pokemon that won the match); 2) demonstrate why Strong Spheres are useless (no trainer control, a wild and instinctual fighting style that can be easily out maneuvered, reduced endurance, etc). Probably wouldn't happen either due to people would want to see Ash win with his own Pokemon and also it would kind of not gel with the theme of the bonds between people and their Pokemon.

Coral is Jessie and James daughter; possibly one they had early in the careers at Rocket and tried to leave at an orphanage but Giovanni learned of her, and wanting to pay back Miyamoto took Coral in as an adoptive daughter. While this did spare the poor girl the hardships her mother endured, it left Coral with her nasty personality as she is literally a mob princess. Probably unlikely as if Journeys is the same universe as the original series, then it seems fairly close chronological to the end of Journeys and Jessie would likely be way too young to be Coral's mother.
