After making a basic version of this, I tried it out for a day on my watch and found it surprisingly easy to tell the time with!
So unlike a lot of the watch faces I've been making I decided to refine this for daily use.
Assets used
Background: Pokémon Mystery Dungeon
Pokémon: Sprites from Sprites Resource, Pokémon HeartGold / SoulSilver (Walking animation)… also the tree and bushes
Grass: I couldn't lift something from Pokémon to make this work, so I made that one myself.
How it works
Hour: The Pokémon walk across the screen over the hour (Bulbasaur at 1 o'clock to Butterfree at 12 o'clock)
Minute: Mew and Mewtwo rotate on the same circle, so only one is fully visible at a time. They're each present on the screen for 30 mins, so if Mew is in the middle of the screen it's 15 mins of the hour, and if Mewtwo is it's 45 mins of the hour.
It's obviously not minute accurate, but it's good enough to get you within 5 minutes once you get used to it.
Next
I'll implement changing backgrounds that change with the weather… Which is surprisingly easy to do!
I would also like to implement Step Count, and a Heart Rate Indicator that looks like the Pokémon's Health Bar
