I’m doing a Pokédex binder collection and wanted to share my progress on Gen 1. These are some of my favorite pages so far!
I should note that the goal here wasn’t necessarily monetary value, but rather just printings that I liked. For example there are much more expensive Venusaur cards than that pop series holo in the first slot, but I simply like that one so it made the cut.
I also love cosmos holo foiling more than any other, which is why you see a lot of Base Set 2 over Base Set 1 (just my preference). And you’ll probably realize that my favorite era was the original lowercase ex era. Something about those cards brought me so much nostalgia and I still adore them to this day. A close second is definitely the WotC Expedition/Skyridge/Aquapolis era. Some of those cards look so cool, just look at the Nidoking and Starmie at the end of the photo gallery!
All of these were obtained from trading or single buying. I thankfully had a bunch of high end stuff from when I used to play Yugioh and MTG so there was plenty of trade fodder to go around.
I’m not exactly done, there are some upgrades I am looking to make, such as Gold Star Delta Species Gyarados, Snorlax Lv.X and SIR Dragonite V. And I would like to have full pages for Raichu and Victreebel before I move onto Johto and Hoenn. While I have already started them, there is a limit to the number of images I can share in a Reddit post. If anyone wants to see more, I can post an Imgur link in the comments.
