Mega Malamar would've been great for farming candies from raids during the Wild Area
i will say, on the note of kangaskhan and heracross, those are regionals that tend to not come up in events a lot for the reasons you stated, meaning a lot of people are missing one or both of them. i'm still missing kangaskhan, it's my last kanto pokemon i need for my dex. so i'm kinda excited for them.

Mega-Z (or Z-Mega) Pokémon will most likely have a new mega energy.
But it would still be worth it to raid for their current forms if you need stronger ones.
I hope that Mega Lucario-Z ends up being stronger than Mega Lucario.

Sorry y'all I was looking at TDO (total damage output) when ranking Mega Diancie. It is #1 in DPS, but much lower in TDO. I'd still personally run Mega Tyranitar over Mega Diance for rock-type, given the easier access and better defensive stats which mean it stays in battle longer, boosting other rock-types for longer and increasing your team's total damage output even more.

I was expecting something like a wild mega encounter for ticket holders or something like that. But turns out, it's just another event that I can play casually without a hard-grind minded. Idk, it's just not that fun
