Boost Mode for Civ7 is frustratingly close to perfect

I picked up Civ7 on Switch because handheld is the only way i enjoy gaming these days. I was hooked on the game but eventually the desire to play on my Switch 2 fizzled (not because of the game’s decisive divisive mechanics) because the UI is so cramped I couldn’t stand it anymore and had to switch to docked mode where the higher resolution fills out the menus so much better. But my total lack of desire to play on a TV eventually led me to abandon the game altogether.

Now with Boost Mode here, it seems like the perfect answer to my prayers… except there’s one problem. I bought the $10 Switch 2 upgrade pack, so now the game is effectually treated as an S2 game, so Boost Mode is NOT activated. I did a test where i deleted the game entirely and just ran the game off plain game cart only, which DOES activate Boost and successfully gives me my dream experience…

Except there’s still one catch! I also bought all the DLC! And any attempt to redownload the DLC without the upgrade pack fails. It’s all seemingly inter-twined now. So I’m stuck having to choose between the optional optimal UX without any extra content or the dead end of claustrophobic menus.

What do you think the odds are Nintendo will add in some kind of option to disable Switch 2 edition upgrades in tandem with Boost Mode? I was given so much hope only to have it taken away..

EDIT:

Thanks to the advice provided, I was able to disable the upgrade pack using some secret trick in the eShop (pressing + 5 times on the DLC page).

I've included a couple screenshots of the difference it makes for any skeptics out there who think I'm making too big a deal out of this. I'm not exaggerating that this makes the game actually playable again in handheld!

My bad, can't attach images on this thread. If you're curious they're all here: https://imgur.com/a/5ZYxCx8
