Can you imagine if we could go back to when Guilty Gear and other fighters just allowed you to unlock the roster by playing Arcade/Story mode?
Yeah, we live in sad times.

Don’t get me wrong: I am indeed excited about 2.0! Especially with Jam coming on the main platforms.
However, I do have two pieces of my mind to share:
1. Considering the amount of time it took for the rest of the Season 4 DLC (minus the stages) to come to the Switch version and [the statement about the team examining what form future updates could take](https://www.guiltygear.com/ggst/en/news/post-2819/), I’m nervous about whether or not all the 2.0 content will make it to platform. Worst case scenario: ArcSys decides it’s not worth the effort and just ends support here and now; especially considering the lack of word for a Switch 2 upgrade. Then again, only time will tell.
2. I personally find Battle Passes to be an artificial solution to retaining player attention. The rewards are indeed nice (I didn’t even expect costumes to happen!), but what’s there to do once you get all the rewards you wanted? This is why I’ve been dying for something like a Score Attack mode: I want to compete at my own pace when I’m taking a break from online matches. Arcade mode doesn’t offer much incentive to replay the mode after seeing all the endings and Survival mode is too much of a drag considering how I can just cheese it with command grabs (at least up to Stage 60).
