They won't have these backgrounds in the game when selecting your starter, and you won't see the small battle sprites. Only the big versions with some other background, depending on which Poke Ball you interact with.
These are the starters my game has:
Bunbon, grass fairy bunny
Glacifloof, ice dark kitty (has some abilities to cover the weaknesses)
