I really hope this post is allowed cause this is kinda making me emotional and I wanted to share
I went to my local thrift store today looking for some second hand pokemon merch and was pleasantly surprised to find some pokeball toys and a few plushies in those mixed bags of random small toys for really cheap. I didn't really pay much mind to Minccino before this but I thought he was cute and the bags were super cheap (7$)
I gave him a good wash when I got home cause he was pretty rough looking with a few loose strings and frayed edges. I was going to cut the tag off when I noticed the copyright date said 2011, making it 15 years old, but more importantly there was a name written on the base of the tag. I censored the last name for their privacy but the previous owner clearly cared enough about this little guy to sign their name in permanent marker and that kinda broke my heart. Did someone decide to get rid of their childhood toy while cleaning out their room? Did a kid misplace their favorite little guy in the "donate" pile and is frantically looking for them as I write this? I'll probably never know. But what I do know is that this is Minccino's home now and I'll cherish him for a long time. I hope I can love him as much as their last owner did.
