So in other words it’s worse in every way to Showdown.
I have played it a bit, and I love it.
Im enjoying it, but it just doesn’t compare to revolution, which came out in what 2010?
is ANYONE shocked?
I’m having fun, but yeah it just lacks a lot of content.
People not getting that they are doing “season” like batch releases of the Pokémon and items just don’t know how to read. When you look at the banner in game it shows that this set of Pokémon is until June, when they will both add new Pokémon/items, and make balance changes to the current list.
Anyways, I’m having fun with it lol.
Big pokemon fan here but this game is pointless and 30FPS on Switch 2 is ass
How can you have low expectations and still be disappointed?
Also yet again ugly clothes. I want normal or crazy clothes/outfits, not yoga clothes. So ugly
Y’all really don’t know shit about live service game design.
Animations and FX are the best Pokemon has ever looked.
Seems to me like they’re pushing VGC rules. Doesn’t surprise me given the game’s emphasis on competitive play, but still quite limiting regardless.
Damn. Sucks seeing corporations destroy heavy hitters because they don’t want to spend the money they will undoubtedly get back ten fold. Greedy bastards want their money now despite having more than they need to be fed, healthy and housed.
Is this game basically just Pokemon Stadium with microtransactions?
Gamefreak has one of the worst aesthetics team on planet Earth. Also goes for ILCA.
30fps cmon nintendo lmao
Ya’ll realize this is for Competitive Pokemon right? This isn’t supposed to just be a fun mess around game where you can battle your friends with anything you want. Regulations are always putting pokemon in and taking Pokemon out. You will never have all 1000 pokemon available at the same time, it’s always going to be a subset to keep the game fresh and force people to try new strategies and relearn the format when they change to a new regulation. Otherwise the game gets stale and people stop playing it.
And it’s interesting that items will be one way they keep things fresh if they don’t end up having them all available later. If all of the sudden Assault Vest is gone, how much does that change teambuilding when you can’t give a free 50% spdef boost to a mon?
Yes it being at 30 FPS on Switch 2 is disappointing.
I won’t speak to the performance, but as this appears to be the app to get casuals into competitive matches it makes sense that the content would start limited.
Didn’t they say that VGC was going to be done through Champions from now on?
Not to mention you literally have to look up how to transfer Pokemon from Home to Champions because the game still does a terrible job explaining some of the mechanics despite how much of a slog the tutorial is. 😮💨
6v6 not being in the battle only pokemon game is a WILD choice
Well I want to use Legendaries but guess that’s not a thing anymore. I was so excited to use my shiny Latios I caught In ZA and other pokemon. Sadge
These companies want to make live services and go “ok we have this thing that’s kinda fun but gets old really quick. So we’re done.”
I would love to have way more stuff that could easily be implemented. I really liked the gym leader castle thing from Pokémon stadium. Just do that for all games for minimal rewards. That would incentivise getting 3 Pokémon that are strong against a certain type. You basically want your players to want more Pokémon. But they think the IP being Pokémon so they are just going to want more automatically without a reason for it
30fps on switch 2 is fucking absurd
Pokemon battle revolution released for the Wii in 2006 actually looks graphically better than this game. And that was twenty years ago. Plus they had all the Pokémon included…
The gigantic contrast from the pretty good beginning opening cutscene to the actual game’s crappy graphics blew my mind
but then again what’d I expect from a company that made games like SV and PLA??
this game couldve been modern pokemon stadium and Showdown on your switch and its a scam instead. what a wonderful company
Tbh. I might get downvoted for this. But people are gonna have to get used to all 1000+ pokemon not being in every game. You’re gonna have your staples like Pikachu and Eevee and Charizard and lucario ofcourse but not every pokemon game is gonna have that dumb ass set of keys pokemon.
It’s fmainky for competitive. It does that
I was only able to import THREE of my legacy mons from home, killed any motivation to even bother.
“Surely pokemon won’t be dogshit a 439th time in a row”
SURPRISED PIKACHU GIF HERE

Se demoraron bastante para dar un juego mediocre
No 6v6 is fine. The frames are really choppy even for 30fps but the biggest crime is the slow text speed and no option to change it
I don’t really get why Gamefreak hates the format that, in both lore, anime, and in the single player stories, is the actual competitive format (6v6) and instead push VGC constantly. VGC is fine and all, but not a single person thinks of that first when they think pokemon battling.
Look here’s real life experience: as soon as tools like openclaw released, within 3 days, 500+ employee companies were giving all their employees a sub-agent.
Since 2023 these companies have been trying to use AI to the max, and all these games are SLOP NOW because of it. Not to mention the culture of doing the very least to get through the dull moments until entertainment can be consumed and dump dopamine in our brains.
We’re toast is my theory anyway, and honestly we’re so dumb for even supporting this anymore. All these titles have lost a creative human edge in the last couple of years. The switch became a gimmick console to developers to make easy cash and it’s almost like GameFreak themselves believe this these days…
Looking at who developed the game, I’m not surprised it was made by the Pokémon Work developer the folks who were behind Pokémon Sleep and Pokémon home. Neither of those are real games. And apparently the game is also going to release later for mobile. This is such a blunder.
This game just reeks of Ilca. Everything about it, from the UI design to the sound effects. I would have thought BDSP would have enough for them to never work on a Pokemon games again but apparently not.
This game has got a long way to go before it becomes the Home of Pokemon battling.
Back to S/V for me.
another half baked pokemon product, what a shock.
I miss when games weren’t infected with multiple currencies and battle passes.
Even if I don’t engage with it, it’s designed around it.
I understand why they do it. But it’s a blight on the players that we allowed this to rot into our games.
I’ll stick to showdown lol. Nintendo is cooked
This 30 fps bs needs to go because people were expecting performance from the trailer and from owning their switch 2.
Like, just make a proper definitive Pokemon stadium game. I’d happily pay 70 for that.
Use it as the default game for competitive and keep updating it over time.
Wait tf you mean lack of 6v6 that’s like 90% of the reason to play a competitive Pokemon app and they left it out? 😭
