The Fiverr Artist that I commissioned is patofermin.
This is the Pika-Clone (aka Electric Rodent) for my Western-themed fakemon region, called the "Weson Region".
It is based on gold, which is a good conductor of electricity, gold nuggets, and small rodents. This line was also inspired by stories of how Colorado coal miners used to use rats and mice instead of canaries in coal mines.
Kinezumi ("Kin" – Japanese word for "Gold" + "Nezumi" – Japanese word for "Mouse") – The False Gold Pokemon: (Electric / Steel Type)
It burrows into cave walls, leaving only its back exposed, where it is often mistaken for gold. When struck, it releases a powerful electric shock in defense. Its whiskers act as dowsing rods that react to nearby metals.
Drawn to anything that glitters, it stores gold within its cheeks. It can instantly tell real gold from fool’s gold using its sensitive whiskers. Because of this, miners value Kinezumi as a trusted partner for locating rich veins of gold. If offered pyrite, it may become visibly upset and zap the offender.
