I think many players now realize that Community Days have devalued their shinies.

This is false for 2 reasons.

There are many newer players so community day shinies from a few years ago with their legacy attacks are still wanted.

I really want a decent shiny tinkaton for ultra league and it will take a few lucky trades for me to get iv’s in the top 25.

Like everything else, it depends. I don’t *disagree* with you, but there are some community Day shinies I missed and would be willing to trade a decent poke for. Probably not a shiny legendary, but a regional, normal legendario, or non-community day shiny. And some community Day pokes are meta, so I’m looking for hundos (and being shiny would be a bonus). Basically, they should be realistic, but I’d rather they tag their community Day shinies than not tag them or even tag nothing.

Surely someone wants one of my 32 shiny scorbunnies

  4. I already traded my White Flower Flabee, Goomy, Beldum, Litten and Deino from comm days and one of those got me a Shiny Kyogre (I asked for Kyogre they asked for CD)

So it all depends on the player. I agree with your idea in general but there are so many people playing just for fun or to collect their favorite pokemon that the options are nearly infinite.

Are they worth something amazing? Probably not. Are they worth something to someone? Yes.

I’ve missed more than a few Community Days because of work, or just happened to be unlucky when it came to catching shinies. There are some I’d be happy to get.

Reminder that for remote trades, you have to select a pokemon. If they don’t have anything of value to offer then don’t trade with them. You still get the experience just no lucky trade (which before the update, you were getting no experience and no lucky trade).

  7. Surely the purpose of lucky trades is to aim for a shundo and not something ‘rare’? Iv done countless of the same shiny lucky trade to chase a high iv shiny.

What if the person is a free to play not hardcore player or in a remote area that legendaries are hard to get? Should you not help them out and help them get something they don’t have?

I ask as a hardcore player only needing a small handful of shinies. Should I not trade with people if they don’t have an extra of these rare shinies?

My plan is if I have it listed then it is a Pokémon I am already not planning on using and is an extra. It’s better for it to go to someone that needs it, than to Professor Willow. As for them I just pick the thing I want most. That may just be a random shiny for a chance at a shundo. That is fine as this person is my friend and has been a good enough friend to get to this level. If I can help them out great that is what the community element of Pokémon go is all about.

It all depends. Some are new to game. Some community days or other events that give me plenty of regionals or shiny were long time ago.

Hardly. People have jobs and other commitments. Plenty of people I locally play with miss the small 3 hour window. Not to mention people come back to playing frequently.

  11. TheAirsucker

I could not care less what people ask for from my remote trades. It’s all my extras anyway. I don’t give a damn about “fair trade value” because at the end of the day, I’ll ask for something I’m looking for and so will they. If they take a shiny Groudon and I ask for a shiny snorunt, who cares. I have my good one and it’s not in my remote list. I don’t understand why people talk about trade value for remote trades.

Now if that other person has 4 trash pokemon in their remote trade only, it’s different. They have to have something I want or it’s denied.

  12. DeliciousValuable

Those are the only shinies I have though

  13. TyrOdinson89

You guys are getting to trade? Lol I only have 1 forever friend and the rest get to 4th level then stop interacting. I send gifts as much as possible! At least every 2 days. Sometimes I cant go by a stop cause of work tho

The title and the meme seem to be two different points. If you’re saying don’t ask you for a shiny legendary while offering only community day shinies then ok fair. But someone who misses con day would need them and it has value.

  15. lemurkat

I missed around 16 community days. I am actively hunting certain ex-CD shinies.

  16. jmeagher98

Well some people dont have the super rare shinies you want. You know you dont have to trade with them right? Most people play this game casually and you have to be okay with that. No one is forcing you to trade your rare pokemon to someone. And what is rare to one person, may not be to the other. This is getting to the point where this topic is a spammed topic. Im seeing posts about it everyday and it just makes the community look bad.

Different strokes for different folks, I recently did a shiny Halloween froakie for a standard shiny froakie, because I’m aiming for a living dex in HOME and event mons can’t be transferred, and because I missed the last com day for froakie.

  18. FinalDisciple

There is always going to be people returning to the game and people that missed a community day. I still don’t have a mega swampert even thought there’s been chances to get it in the last 6 months.

Want dictates value, just as much as rarity. PokEconomists should understand this by now.

  19. doublea08

I just want shiny froakies, I wish I could make that known, shiny froakies until I get a perfect one.

Have done 8 so far with no luck.

  20. There will always be new players. Next time only add people lvl 70 above so you have a high chance of getting what you want. Or just unfriend them cause you seem like a very nice guy 👍

  21. Electronic_Line998

Some of you take this game way, way too seriously

  22. Gh0stwhale

Is it fun to be this angry about a fun game?

  23. FlameSama1

Don’t get what the salt is over. If you’re offering a rare shiny then they can offer whatever they want for it, literally just tell them no?

I’ve done a handful and one guy offered a shiny Mewtwo as one of the three. I didn’t choose that one, instead taking a plain legendary swap, but surely if I DID pick the shiny that THEY offered, then they can’t be too shitty about it. I figured the trade value was lopsided so I didn’t try personally but still.

EDIT: I also personally have like 500 pokemon on offer, a mix of legendaries, my area’s regionals, and some shinies I had more than a few of (yes included CD mons). If you can’t come up with something, that’s you being too picky…

  24. Screws_Loose

I tag some for those who might have missed them. But I also have a crap ton of regionals and legendaries.

  25. HogglesPlasticBeads

I guess I just don’t understand the point of this. They don’t have anything you want so you don’t trade. Of course they’re going to ask for what they want. Do you think they’re holding out good stuff and only offering shiny community day pokemon as some sort of weird manipulation? That’s likely the best they have. If you don’t want it, don’t trade. But someone might so why wouldn’t they try?
