There are a lot of posts on here where people post the best packs they’ve ever opened and I feel that leads to a misconception for people new to the hobby that it’s common to get great cards. That misconception leads a lot of impressionable people (younger people especially) to spend a lot of money because they think they’ll get a god pack.
Well, here’s what 200 bucks spent looks like on packs where—by law—you’re almost certain to do better than you will with English packs.
This is, maybe, 50 bucks worth of cards—with 30 of it coming from one card. To make a long story short, if you’re new to the hobby and reading this, know that you are gambling, and 99 times out of a 100, you’re going to lose. Buy singles.
