Tried posting this to r/PokemonROMhacks but it got taken down since it's an idea discussion which is fair.
Anyway this idea is under the assumption the artists would be willing to and wanting to work on said project as well. I've stumbled upon an artist, Popodoodle Studio, working on a project called Bokemon, redrawing all the 1st gen Pokemon and they're ridiculously cool with a somewhat horror style spin. Reaching out and collaborating with artists not directly involved with the ROM community could result in some cool projects as well. If a dev were to collaborate with Popodoodle Studio for a Bokemon ROM hack it could make for a really interesting horror/occult theme. Someone had commented, on the now deleted post, that they could be tied in with Japanese yokai which is also a cool idea.
Cool idea for consideration and discussion. As well as just appreciation for cool Pokemon art.
