I didn't want any duplicate slots, so I replace Johto's Bruno with Karate Dojo for more character development and in-game story telling. Also, I replace Lance with Euisune.
I kept Wallace as Hoenn's Champion because I wanted Steven to be one of the main Trainers you battle with in the Battle Tower/World Tournament.
Champions League was originally intended to be (Cynthia, Steven, Eusine, Lance) but I decided to keep them as Regional Champions.
