https://youtu.be/LOajhm5vXQ8?si=dwRb5VgPuQduIxm0In the video, the characters are basically joking around:
Pokémon: “Bro, what even happened like two episodes ago? What’s next, am I gonna fight God?”
Trainer: “Oh please, if God was real, he wouldn’t have made those freaks of nature called Paradox Pokémon. Anyway, let’s go find a cave, set up camp, and just chill for the night. No more fighting.”
Pokémon: “Yeah whatever, let’s just get this over with. My lungs hurt from screaming all day.”
Later they end up at the Sinjoh Ruins.
Pokémon: “Wait a second… did you just say Sinjoh Ruins?”
Trainer: “Uh yeah, why?”
Pokémon: “He’s here…”
Trainer: “Who’s here?”
Then they notice something in the cave.
Trainer: “Uh… is that Jesus?”
Then Arceus appears:
Arceus: “Well actually, the correct pronunciation is Arceus, but basically yes. Now what the hell are you two doing in my cave?!”
Trainer: “Uh nothing, nothing—Jesus—uh I mean Arceus sir, we were just leaving!”
What confused me was the “if God was real” line and the “is that Jesus?” part. I wasn’t sure if the joke was treating Arceus as basically the Pokémon world’s version of God, or if the trainer literally didn’t recognize Arceus and just called it Jesus by mistake.
It’s a parody, so I assume it’s probably the second option, where the trainer just doesn’t know Arceus’ name and is saying random “God/Jesus” stuff for humor—but I wasn’t fully sure.
