Okay, it has been approximately 2 months since the global Kalos tour. With Go fest steadily approaching and the leaks slowly coming out, Mega Mewtwo X and Y are pretty much confirmed to come.
However, I also think that 2 potential pokemon could come to the game during Alola Tour. These are: Ultra Necrozma, and Mega Zygarde.
Ultra Necrozma (page 1)
We received the fused necrozmas during GO fest 2024 as an introduction to fusion. I think that they skipped releasing the ultra form due to power creep, plus a potentially creative/complex way that they may have had in mind. I read online that Necrozma can turn into Ultra by giving its fused forms (NDW and NDM) the Ultranecrozmium Z crystal so that it can use Ultra Burst, which makes me wonder how they will implement Z Moves in GO. Also, the Ultra form is a temporary form thats similar to mega evolving. Maybe they would allow us to use our Z crystal on our fused necrozma and "evolve" it to ultra form, for a set duration of time before it reverts back. Another thing I would want to mention is that Necrozma should have Photon Geyser before it changes into ultra, just like how you need Glaciate to obtain fused Kyurem's adventure effects, and also just like how zacian/zamazenta need Iron Head before reverting to their crowned forms. Photon Geyser would then temporarily change into Light That Burns The Sky.
Also, just like how Rayquaza mega evolves via a Meteorite, Necrozma could use Ultra Burst via the Z-Crystal (which would be provided in ticketed research, and extremely rare as a raid drop so as to get us to pay up).
Mega Zygarde (page 2)
This is a very hot take from me, but I think that if not UNec, then its got to be this. Mega Zygarde recently came out a few months ago via the release of Legends ZA, and it looks awesome. Zygarde's 50% forme came out in XY, however, the 10% and Complete formes came out in Sun and Moon. I think that if they decide to release this, then its got to be via the Super (stupid) mega raids, with the boss having a set amount of shields that trainers need to take down in order to defeat the raid. For the raid reward, it could drop between 350-450 energy (it could take anywhere between 5000-7000 energy to mega evolve, since they have to find a way to monetize it…just speculation for now). As the catch reward, we could get a 10% forme from it that we would need to get enough cells to convert to 50%, then Complete. It could drop anywhere from 10-15 cells, and this number can be boosted if a mega level 3 that is either dragon/ground is active.
As for general moves, it learns a whopping 4 signature moves, which are Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Core Enforcer, and Land's Wrath. So, in order to get Mega Zygarde's signature move, Nihil Light, Zygarde would need to know Core Enforcer before mega evolving. And, to incentivize even more Routes, we may need cells to mega evolve, no matter its mega level. (I'm not trying to give them ideas, please don't blast me in the comments section)
Maybe they could also debut Mega Zeraora alongside…who knows.
Who do you think would be more likely to appear?

Of the two, Ultra Necrozma given how recently Mega Zygarde was released by comparison.
Mega Zygarde doesn’t really involved in Sun/Moon/Ultra Sun/Ultra Moon stories so I doubt it will be chosen in Alola Tour. Even its reason to be in Alola region was only explained in Z-A.
I think we get Ultra Necrozma in 2027, but we’ll get Masterwork Research for Shiny Zeraora
Ultra Necrozma along with all the Ultra Beasts in raids makes sense for Alola Tour. Mega Zygarde is more fitting for go fest, similar to how Rayquaza and now Mewtwo are
Way too early…this is like scouting through 2027 NFL Draft prospects in March when we haven’t completed the 2026 draft.
So much can happen and change….
Arceus
Ultra necrozma is a possibility. No way mega zygarde or zeraora will appear. But we will have shiny zeraora.
How about let’s keep it simple?
There are still a number of unreleased Alolan Pokemon from the basic dex.
Wishiwashi
Pyukumuku
Minior
Legendaries: Type Null, Magearna
Mudbray, Comfey, Zeraora made available worldwide at no additional cost.
Let’s focus on those first.
Bold to assume anything interesting will be featured after this year’s Kalos Tour
If I had to, I’d put my money on Solgaleo/Lunala shiny debuts (maybe plus signature moves if Solgaleo doesn’t get broken in PVP) but no Cosmog unless TPC releases it this year. I’d be happy about that.
I can tell you with confidence that it will not be Mega Zygarde. Yes, I know that Zygarde appeared in the Alola Games, but honestly? That was mostly done because they had these new forms of Zygarde and were already moving on from Gen 6 (teraleak revealed that there was a brief period of time where a Pokemon Z had existed). But overall, they were tacked onto SuMo.
The fact that they indeed didn’t do Mega Mewtwo for Kalos Tour (I didn’t think they would) shows to me that they’re not going to have something like Mega Zygarde headline Alola Tour. Also, seeing how long it took to get Mega Mewtwo (still not here obviously), I think Mega Zygarde isn’t coming til the tail half of the Z-A Megas. Honestly, I’d bet on us getting Mega Darkrai before Mega Zygarde.
I think there are two routes they will go for Alola Tour:
1. Ultra Necrozma – basically everything you said. I don’t think at this point we’re getting Z-Moves in GO. They aren’t a very popular feature to begin with, but debuting it *starting* with the Alola Tour would be a bit odd. I really just think it’ll be a Meteorite-like situation, probably alongside additional energy you’d give either Necrozma fusion, and I assume it’ll function like a Mega/Primal for the most part.
2. Shiny Solgaleo and Lunala – With the above option, I think we’d get these two’s shinies prior to Alola Tour, whether in the Road to Alola lead up or even months prior. But I think it’s entirely possible that they don’t do Ultra Necrozma for Alola Tour and instead just give us these two in raids, shiny-eligible, and perhaps with a *chance* (ugh) to get Sunsteel/Moongeist as exclusive moves like the origins. Yes, this sounds like a more underwhelming headliner for Alola Tour, and I agree! However, after Kalos Tour, I don’t think it’s impossible that they’d skip Ultra Necrozma, as lame as that would be. I was super confident they’d give us Zygarde in *some form* for Kalos Tour. I was expecting it being shiny-eligible and in raids (not the Mega), where you’d fight either the 50% or 100% but catch 10%. If not that, I thought at the very least we’d get a second Zygarde via the Go Pass or Special Research or something. But nope, ZERO Zygarde appearances during the event. After than, I’m no longer confident that Ultra Necrozma is a lock for Alola Tour.
I am done with speculation after disappointing Kalos tour which didn’t involve shiny Zygarde in any form.
It would be amazing!! Genuinely I would be excited to the max but let’s see, in this season everything is possible
