Gmax Gengar returns this Saturday!
Gengar is the top attacker in Max battles vs. Ghost & Psychic types and a strong neutral option vs many others. Gengar has 2 weaknesses from its Ghost typing (Ghost & Dark) & 2 from its Poison typing (Ground & Psychic).
Gengar has 8 charge moves, presenting a roulette like situation, itβs tough to reroll for optimal moves (Shadow punch has 1.5s cooldown; Sludge bomb & Drain Punch has 2.5s; Sludge Wave, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse & Psychic has 3s; Focus Blast has 3.5s cooldown). With Blissey filling 1 spot, Focus Blast in the only threat, Gengar (3x resists) is a great tank vs FB, Latias is good, other options are mostly catch tanks (Lugia stands out). If the group is decent sized, a neutral 2nd tank is enough.
(On the infographic, each featured pokemon have 2 most damaging (left side) & 2 least damaging (right) boss moves on them listed at the bottom of their panel, moves inside Red β Can absorb a hit, Orange β 2 hits, Yellow segment β 3+ hits can be absorbed and so on. This colour coding is done having Gengar at 0.85CPM & 0.9 Attack Multiplier.)
π» Gmax Gengar is our top Attacker by a distance, followed by Gmax Grimmsnarl. Dmax Alakazam & Latios comes close on WINDY weather.
π» Blissey is the best Tank & Healer (another good option being Snorlax). Zamazenta is a great pair to Blissey except vs FB, if Gengar is the attacker, this combo works well. Lugia, Eternatus or Latias can complement Blissey well.
Other than the listed PokΓ©mon,
π» Dmax Metagross(6th) with Zen Headbutt, Excadrill(7th), Single Strike Urshifu (8th) are Tier 2 attackers.
π» Gmax Snorlax vs Ghost moves, Metagross with Fury cutter/Shadow Claw vs Poison & Psychic moves, Eternatus vs Fighting & Poison moves are good specialist tanks.
All the Best! ππ
